God's church has never been perfect. His people have wandered and lost sight of His way. David and Solomon led the church in their imperfect ways, and eventually, God's church went into captivity in Babylon. That's why Jesus came to reestablish it.
Jesus rebuilt the church of His Father with His teachings and His life. And on that life, His disciples built a new religion that pointed to Jesus' life and death as the only hope for human salvation. As believers, we are a part of the church they built. And we have a responsibility to continue to build it by sharing its truths with others. God's church today is not perfect any more than is has been in the past. But it is still His church, filled with His people, moving toward His kingdom.
